Things to bring:
All Cardiolates students are required to bring anti-slip socks for the class.
Cardiolates combines the alignment principles of Pilates with the cardiovascular benefits of rebounding. This result in improved core strength, balance, coordination (Pilates), and a good fat burn (Rebounding).
Cardiolates originated from a desire to find a cardio regime that upheld the alignment principles of Pilates.
Pilates tones muscles very effectively but lacks a cardiovascular component to burn unwanted fat. Rebounding makes up for that missing component by providing an aerobic workout that is very low impact yet helps burn fats.
Rebounding exercise is about performing a series of controlled bouncing movements on a purpose built mini-trampoline called a Rebounder. The buoyant mat that forms the trampoline is made of industrial nylon that absorbs over 80% of the shock. This allows the development of joint-friendly aerobic exercise that is used by NASA, the USA Air Force, dancers, gymnasts and athletes.
The low-impact nature of rebounder exercises combined with Pilates means it is also suitable for rehabilitation programs.
A typical Cardiolates course incorporates upbeat music with progressive Pilates and rebounding movements that help the infrequent exerciser progress at a comfortable pace.
