After the delivery of your baby, the excitement and incredible joy comes the transition into motherhood. This important period contains a multitude of physical, hormonal, mental and emotional changes. So you can maintain a sense of balance during this time, to deal with all the new responsibilities and benefits, yoga teaches you to relax, to take some essential time each day to nurture yourself. As your body heals and returns to its pre-pregnancy shape, muscles must be gradually strengthened while being protected since the ligaments remain stretched due to "relaxin" hormones released during pregnancy. As your body gains strength, more challenging asanas (or postures) will be introduced until you feel physically strong and flexible, more integrated, mentally clear, with a relaxed, peaceful outlook.
