FAQs

What do I need to bring for class?
For swimming classes, do bring your swimwear, towels and toiletries, and a change of clothes if needed. Please ensure that all young children (children below 4) have 2 layers of swim diapers (disposable and reusable).
How does a swim term work?

A swim term consists of 10-13 classes, depending on the calendar month. Classes will be booked consecutively on a weekly basis at the same day and time. Fees will be prorated for the remaining classes left for the term should a student join in mid term. Fees will also be prorated should classes fall on a public holiday.

If my child is sick on the day of class, can I cancel/reschedule?
We do not allow same day cancellations/no-show would be considered session utilized. To be eligible for make up tokens, the centre would have to be informed at least one day in advance or MC provided.
When is the earliest that my child can start swimming?
We have classes for infants from 2 months onwards.
How many make up tokens am I eligible for?

For every swim term of 10 – 12 classes, the child is eligible for up to 5 make up tokens, and all make up tokens are to be utilized within the term itself. Make up tokens will be prorated depending on the classes left at the start of your term package.

How do I renew for the next swim term?
The child is automatically renewed and charged for the next term 2 weeks before the current term ends. Please inform us in advance if you intend to change classes or take a break from swim classes for the next term.
Must I stick to the same timeslot every week for term basis?
It is recommended to stick to same time slot every week but you can also go for other time slots subjected to availability. Let us know in advance if you want to change dates so we can check the slots for you. Alternatively, you can opt for the 5- sessions flexi package which allows you the flexibility of booking into different classes.
Can I change the date and timing for my trial class?
Yes, do contact us to arrange for a new time slot at least 1 day in advance. Do note that trial class has to be utilised within a month.
I'm going on holiday, am I able to pause my package?
No, all packages are non-extendable. Any sessions not utilized by the end of the term would be forfeited.
Will my child be issued a swim certification at the end of a swim term?

Skills achievement awards will be automatically reflected in your child’s account for your reference. If you wish to apply for the test, STA International Learn to Swim assessment can be arranged by our STA examiners at $25 for internal students and $35 for external students. Certifications issued would be under STA International.

What if the teacher is absent?
If the teacher is on leave or sick, Inspire will have a relief teacher as replacement for the class. In the event that there’s no replacement teacher, the class will be cancelled.
Can both parents be in the water with the child?
Due to limited space available for group classes, only 1 parent is allowed to be in the water with the child. The other parent can sit by the poolside to observe the class. For private 1-1 classes, both parents are able to accompany the child in the water throughout duration of the class
My child is potty-trained, is double diapers still compulsory?
Yes. As swimming engages multiple muscle groups and holding of breathe, the child might not be able to communicate their need to go to the bathroom in time.
How early should I turn up for class?
You’re advised to turn up 5-10mins in advance to get the child changed and ready for class.
How long in advance should I feed the baby?
Please feed the baby at least 30 – 45mins before class. We have a breastfeeding room here and mummies are welcome to breastfeed the child after class.
What should parents wear for class?
Parents can enter the pool with normal swimwear attire or dri-fit material clothing. Please refrain from wearing cotton clothing into the pool.
Can I request to have a particular teacher for class?
We do have dedicated teachers for all classes, but teachers are subjected to change by Inspire . If you’d like to have the same teacher throughout, do opt for our private classes instead.

Aqua Tub® (0-3 Months)

Aqua Tub® program is specially designed with infants in mind and most beneficial for babies who suffer from postpartum emotional distress related to childbirth practices, Csection babies, crying and fussy babies, and special needs babies.

Guided session is organized and facilitated in the bathtub, at your location. Water recreates the womb environment. In combination with our guided activities on how to gently move and engage with your baby – we will, together, activate your baby’s calming reflex, helping you to establish a stronger connection with your baby.

This is a great way to boost your oxytocin naturally, which encourages and increases the potential of breastfeeding your baby. We will be there to support you from the beginning till the end of the connecting process, making sure we satisfy baby’s and your needs. Aqua Tub session can be continued through our Babycare, which is an essential part of postpartum Doula services.

Aqua Babies (6-12 Months)

Between the ages of 6m – 12m, babies are developing very quickly into little toddlers – Aqua Babies accompanies their growth by providing them ample opportunities to safely explore and play, with gentle support by parents. As babies gain independence over the course of the class, flotation devices are introduced, allowing older babies more freedom to explore with parents’ support. Aqua Big Tots (2-3Y)

In Aqua Big Tots Level 1, toddlers aged 2 to 4 years old will explore the water’s qualities and their own buoyancy in the water through song and games, with light support from you. Basic safety skills will be introduced to accompany your toddler’s water exploration. These classes will help your toddler to gain confidence and feel more secure in the water, and learn to move across the pool with floatation devices and glide underwater unsupported. Basic safety swimming skills are introduced to accompany the Aqua Big Tots’ water exploration. Consistency in swimming lessons is critical for the Big Tots to feel secure in the water to move across the pool with flotation devices and glide underwater unsupported. After which, they can move on to Aqua Big Tots Level 2.

Aqua Big Tots Level 2 have more adventurous play in the water, and require more safety skills to swim and play safely. With their physical development and water confidence, they are ready to take on longer stretches of swimming and more complex swimming games, such as swimming through a submerged hoop and picking up toys from the pool floor. Swimming skills that help them with water safety and survival include turning underwater to swim back to the poolside and floating independently for short stretches of time. Aqua Big Tots Level 2 swimmers may move on to Aqua Big Tots Level 3 or Aqua Kids 4-7 years, depending on their age, physical development, and skills acquired.

Aqua Big Tots Level 3 is an additional skills level for toddlers who are ready for and enjoy advanced practice. Through song and games, toddlers will practice various rotations that help with floating and safety skills. There will also be lots of different water adventures they will have underwater, eg. picking treasures, accompanied by the requisite safety lessons. Water safety swimming lessons are of foremost importance for this group, as well as adult supervision. Their confidence and competence need to be paired with a respect for water and its qualities, and that respect is to be honed in partnership with parents. While parents continue to support the young swimmers in class and partner them in fun and games, they begin to supervise more than assist. Aqua Big Tots swimmers can take water survival tests and will be able to move up to Aqua Kids Level 2 independent classes once they are developmentally and emotionally ready.

Infant Swim Lessons SG

Aqua Tots (1-2Y)

Aqua Tots Level 1 is designed as a swimming lesson for toddlers 1-2 years old, who may be new to the water, but not for long! With regularity and a dose of fun, toddlers get accustomed to the water environment and form splashy and joyful memories with parents. Songs and rhymes set the scene for water-based games and explorations. Toddlers in this age range enjoy make believe and are raring to go! Level 1 swimming lessons gives them many opportunities to explore independently in the water and to pick up basic safety rules around the pool. Not only are they able to grasp the safety rules, their young age and increased mobility makes them most in need of these safety lessons. Toddlers move onto Level 2 swimming class after they have fully grasped the safety rules, are able to move across the pool with flotation devices, and glide underwater unsupported.

Aqua Tots Level 2 is designed for children who are already water confident and swim short stretches happily on their own, under the careful watch of their parents. In Level 2 toddlers swimming class, children and parents partner in swim games that give plenty of opportunities and exercises for more gliding, kicking and peddling around the pool and between parent and the poolside. Safety skills are still the priority and will be reinforced in the swimming classes.

SG Baby Swimming Class

Aqua Kids (4-7Y)

Aqua Kids Level 1 is a class for young swimmers between 4 to 7 years old, who are beginning their independent water adventures towards being competent swimmers. This class provides the basics that your child will need, including comfort and safety in the water, skills in breathing, submersion, rotation, floatation and gliding. Your child will also learn about their buoyancy and gravity in the water, and build up a strong foundation to begin stroke preparation. Aqua Kids Level 1 lays a strong foundation for young swimmers to begin strokes preparation.

Aqua Kids Level 2 is a swimming class for young swimmers who already enjoy the water and have basic skills in moving safely and independently in the pool. This group still requires close supervision, even if they seem competent. Aqua Kids Level 2 builds on the confidence the swimmers already have, to equip them with survival skills, more complex underwater maneuvers, and skills for swimming longer distances. The class brings games, water fun and strokes preparation for an enjoyable and practice filled class. Once swimmers have strong foundations in kicking, body positioning and floating, and are able to swim 10m – 15m (any way), they can move on to Aqua Kids Level 3.

Aqua Kids Level 3 are designed for swimmers who are moving from strokes preparation to being competent in the strokes. At this level, swimmers work on integrating the various aspects of each stroke accurately, such as the rhythm of breathing with the coordination of arms and legs. After which, swimmers are able to increase the distance of their swim to 20m and more. More water survival skills are taught in age-appropriate ways, so the swimmers are not only able to be safe, but to be saved, in times of trouble in the water. By the end of Aqua Kids Level 3, swimmers would have acquired all the strokes for this age group and be eligible to take the Swim Safer test.
